Safety Guidelines

Prioritizing Community Health and Wellbeing

COA’s plans to return to campus focus on ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and employees.

Learning at COA

Monitoring physical, social and emotional wellbeing is imperative to staying healthy and to nurturing resilience, especially during times of uncertainty. Supporting the physical, social, emotional and cognitive wellbeing of students remains our priority.

While students are expected to return to on-campus learning this fall, the is current offering an online learning accommodation for students .

The in person learning is expected to open on Fall Semester of 2022.

The Physical Environment

COA is committed to ensuring a safe learning and working environment. We will arrange classroom furniture to leave as much space as possible between students. The school will create specific routes for students to get to and from classrooms, including designated entry and exit points.

The Fire safety

The school has recently gone through a fire inspection plan for the new renovation o the building expected to open in 2022 Fall.

 

Six Safety Guarantees

On Campus safety

The school location is in a relatively quiet and remote area in Niagara Falls. Additionally, the school is equipped with 24 hour video surveillance, complete fire hazard protection, front desk registration for visitors, timely fire drills and safety protocol education.

Travelling Safety

Students will ride school buses for activities that require travelling and school buses are used for transportation from housing locations to school campus. School buses will have personnel accompanying the students to ensure safety.

Housing Safety

Campus housing and motels have 24-hour surveillance and on-site security guards patrolling. Dons will also patrol housing to restrict unsafe behavior in late hours.

Food Safety

All personnel involved in food served to students are all certified by food safety government entities.

Guardian Service

All non-adults will have local guardians who can resolve emergency situations.

Health Safety and Care

Students will have access to complete medical insurance and school employees or student guardians will accompany students during any medical procedure.
